Aspects of Uniqueness in Micropolar Piezoelectric Bodies

Moncef Aouadi

Rustaq Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Rustaq 329, P.O. Box 10, Sultanate of Oman

The linear dynamic theory of micropolar piezoelectricity is considered. First we establish a reciprocity relation which involves two processes at different instants. Then we show that this relation can be used to obtain a reciprocal theorem and a uniqueness result. The reciprocal theorem avoids both the use of the Laplace transform and the incorporation of initial conditions into the equations of motion. The uniqueness result is derived with no definiteness assumption on elastic constitutive coefficients.

Key Words: Micropolar • piezoelectric • uniqueness • reciprocity
